Wine Review: If you are looking for a reasonably priced and food friendly Chardonnay, check out this option from Joseph Carr. This light yellow wine opens with a soft pear and apricot like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is round, slightly creamy, nicely balanced with pineapple and apple like flavors with a hint of minerality. The finish is dry and dissipates nicely. This wine would pair nicely with swordfish with a tropical fruit salsa. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2006 Chardonnay from Carneros offers a tropical expression of citrus, pineapple and layers of elegant fruit flavors. The use of small French Oak barrel fermentation adds to the balance of what can be characterized as a more typical French style Chardonnay. The long mineral finish pairs with many types of seafood, but is light and elegant enough for an aperitif.
