Wine Review: I am a big fan of Petite Sirah when it is done right and this offering from Clos La Chance meets those requirements. This very dark opaque purple wine opens with a very inviting mulberry like bouquet that just temps you to try it. On the palate, this wine is very concentrated, lush, and displays delicious blackberry like flavors. The finish is very very dry, shows persistent tannins that linger for quite some time. This wine was one of the treats at this year’s Boston Wine Expo. The good news is that it is a value at only $35. The bad news is that there was not that much made and not that much left. So go to their website and order some today. If you get a bottle, enjoy it with a pepper encrusted steak. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of concentrated blackberry, Marion berry and huckleberry with violet floral aromas that evolve into mocha, molasses and a touch of smoke and earth. Opulent flavors of jammy black plum and currant with dark chocolate, hint of coffee bean and rich, chunky tannins that compliment the long finish.
