Wine Review: This wine a quite a nice Amarone option from the folks at Masi. This very dark purple wine opens with a cherry like bouquet with hints of wood and a touch of heat. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth and as a touch of sweetness leading into its rich cherry flavors with notes spice and pepper. The finish is dry, touch acidic, and lingers slightly. This wine paired very nicely with the roast ostrich we had for lunch. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fascinating garnet reflections apparent to the eye within deep ruby red colour presaging the aromas that stand out on the nose: cherries preserved in spirit, plums, Mediterranean herbs, violets and striking sensations of rosemary and sage. The aftertaste shows mint, cherries, plums, berry fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied and well-structured with shifting hints of sweetness. Long and fresh tasting on the finish.
