Wine Review: This offering from Concha y Toro is always one of the defining Carmenere’s each vintage. This years wine is no exception. Our tasting panel was quite fond of it and felt our Old World fans would particularly enjoy it. It is a very dark opaque purple colored wine that opens with a toasted oak and light cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and well balanced, with smoky oak influenced boysenberry flavors. There are also hints of dark chocolate and black cherry. The finish is dry and it has noticeable tannins that linger for sometime. The panel felt this wine would be a perfect match for beef bourgogne. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dark, deep red. Hints of berries, chocolate, cigar box, pepper, and mineral notes. Tasty and full-bodied. An elegant, powerful wine with flavors of black cherry, woodland berries, hints of chocolate and a long lingering finish.
