Wine Review: This impressive wine from Merus came in second place in our recent blind tasting of high end red wines. This opaque dark purple wine opens with a very aromatic blackberry and vanilla bouquet with a touch of spice and heat. On the palate this full bodied wine is well balanced, rich, and has plum and blackberry flavors. The finish is dry, a touch acidic, and shows some tannin that gives it some length. This wine was terrific now but certainly could benefit from some cellar aging. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with a cowboy ribeye or Kobe steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
