Wine Review: This ruby red wine from Stonehedge stood tall with some other wines that cost a whole lot more in our blind high end red wine tasting on February 1st. This wine opens with a very inviting cassis and cherry like bouquet with a touch of vanilla oak. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is well balanced; smooth, not overly complex, but displays very juicy black cherry flavors with a touch of pepper. The finish is dry, shows a little acidity and fine tannins and a little length. The panel felt this wine would be a perfect match with Beef Bourguignon or even salmon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Stonehedge “Krupp Brothers” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 is produced 100% from grapes grown on the rocky hillside of “Krupp Brothers Vineyard” located in the Atlas Peak appellation of Napa Valley. Grown at 1600 feet above sea level this mountain Cabernet Sauvignon displays concentrated flavors of sweet and sour cherries, chocolate and wide range of berries. It is big, powerful with some soft and hard tannins. If possible please decant this wine an hour prior to drinking.
