Wine Review: Yorkville have made some really fun and tasty organic wines that we have enjoyed and recommended since our trip to Anderson Valley a couple years back in the past. This year we found their new Carmenere to be our favorite. This dark purple wine opens with a light pepper bouquet with some berries mixed in. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is very smooth, well balanced, and has a dry mouthfeel. The flavor profile is nicely complex with light blackberry flavors along with some black tea, spices, and a touch of black pepper. So if you are looking for a really good organic wine that also may be North America’s only Carmenere give the good folks at Yorkville Cellars a call. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Blueberry fruit aromas, some tart cherry/cranberry notes midpalate. Roses, anise, smokey leafy note on nose. Bright and refreshing, with boysenberry fruit and light tannins to finish.
