Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot was my second favorite wine at the Grand Cru tasting at this year’s Boston Wine Expo. This wine opens with an old world styled raspberry scented bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, ultra smooth and well balanced with delicious spicy raspberry like flavors. The finish is dry and its managed tannins linger for quite some time. This terrific Pinot would pair quite well with pork tenderloin. If you see it on a menu somewhere it is a must order. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This pinot noir reflects the unique character of the vines of the west hillside of the Rincon Vineyard. Deep and complex aromas perfumed with hints of rose, spicy blackberry, and cinnamon give way to a firm, full palate of black cherry fruit with a muscular iron note, characteristic of the Rincon Vineyard. The 2005 Rincon Vineyard Pinot Noir pairs nicely with grilled lamb chops or flavorful braised meat dishes like short ribs.
