Wine Review: This Syrah was clearly the best value wine that we recommended from our recent blind Syrah tasting. It is such a good value that I listed it on the Practical Party Case link. This ruby red wine opens with a light blackberry and anise bouquet with a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is smooth, round, and nicely displays its extracted ripe sweet cherry flavors with hints of wood and licorice. The finish is dry and has mild fine tannins. The panel thought this wine would pair nicely with barbeque chicken or pasta with red sauce and Italian sweet sausage. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2004 Syrah displays aromas of Blueberry, Cranberry and Sage. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and rich. The fruit flavors mingle with the toast and vanilla from the oak barrels. A spicy finish and a good structure help round out the tasting experience. This is a great wine from one of the best vintages in the Sierra Foothills of the new millennium.
