Wine Review: I recently showed this wine to a group of folks that had not had a lot of experience with Grüner. The results were positive. I was very well received. This almost clear wine has a little yellow hue to it. It opens with a fresh light lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine has a round mouthfeel, is a touch acidic, and has very pleasant green apple flavors with a hint of minerality and sweetness. The finish was dry and it stayed with you for a while. This wine is quite food friendly and it paired quite nicely with a winter squash soup. If you have not tried Grüner Veltliner, I would suggest this is a nice introduction to the grape. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Spicy, peppery, and even exotic notes like grapefruit and pineapple. The very clear, juicy fruit and beautiful acidity play make this a very animated, pleasurable wine to drink. Because of its structure and lengthy mineral palate, this is a wine of depth - even with its medium body. A wonderful representative Veltliner from the Kamptal. Makes a wonderful aperitif and goes well with light starters like cold meats, cheeses and vegetables.
