Wine Review: I really enjoyed the regular 2004 Kaiken Malbec, so I was looking forward to this Reserve offering at this year's Boston Wine Expo. On the palate, this opaque dark purple wine opens with a very inviting blackberry like bouquet with hints of spice. On the palate, this full bodied wine is very smooth, has a slightly dry mouthfeel and offers rich and concentrated blackberry flavors. The finish is very dry and has long soft lingering tannins. This is a nice steak wine. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Kaiken Ultra Malbec 2005 is deep purple, an exceptional vintage, fresh and dry, delivering floral aromas with the intensity of violets, fruits of the forest, mocha and strong mineral tones. In the mouth, a silky structure with round and sweet tannins, perfectly balanced hold a long, ever pleasing sensation on the palate. A genuine expression of Mendoza’s terroir.
