Wine Review: There are not many domestic Malbecs on the market. So I was looking forward to reviewing this wine. The last domestic Malbec that I can remember recommending was one from Edgewood in Napa many years ago. This very dark purple wine opens with a very attractive black current bouquet. It reminded me of a Zin in many ways. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is round, juicy, quite lively, and has very fruit forward flavors. The wine is easy to drink and displays spicy plum flavors with hints of milk chocolate and rhubarb. The finish is quite dry and has some dusty fine tannins. This wine will definitely appeal to Zin lovers and would pair nicely with meatloaf slathered with a tangy barbecue sauce. So if you are looking for something new and different, try this Malbec as a nice alternative. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Rich purple black color, aroma of violet, layers of black cherry, hazelnut, and white chocolate. This wine can comfortably age for 15 years.
