Wine Review: They are not kidding when they called this wine The Black Wine. Its color is as deep purple and black as you can get. The wine opens with an intense raspberry bouquet with hints of blackberry. However, upon your first taste you relies the wine is charming and not the monster that the color projects. On the palate, the wine is really smooth, well balanced, dry, and displays fresh ripe raspberry flavors. This elegant wine is drinking well right now. The finish is dry, displays very refined tannins, and lingers for a little while. This gem is calling for a filet mignon. Don’t forget the hollandaise sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Black Wine of Cahors used to be drunk by the King of England in the Thirteenth Century. The authentic process of vinification is to cook grapes or must before fermentation. This Wine: Rare, limited production. Color: Black, sinks from where the name. Nose: Dry fruits, candied fruits, liquorice. Mouth: An astonishing variety of flavours. This wine is of a great complexity. Keep: Probably up to 20 - 30 years.
