Wine Review: Very few producers in the US make Very Good Barbera. Here is a success story and another hedonistic wine from the folks at Four Vines. This cloudy ruby red wine opens with an aromatic spicy black cherry bouquet with hints of anise. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is lush, well balanced, and has delicious forward cherry flavors. This wine is not overly complex, but is very tasty. The finish is dry, brisk, lingers for a little while and shows a touch of heat. We suggest that if you give this wine 10 to 15 minutes in a decanter and you will be rewarded. This wine might be a bit big for some folks, but I could quaff this wine all night long. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Barbera loves the high altitude and the red mountain soils of the foothills in Amador County. Like the high elevation vineyards in Italy, this is where Barbera sings. Enjoy its siren song… For the Rogues of the Vine only.
