Wine Review: Hubris mean gutsy and bold according to Rolf Binder. This pure black wine opens with a musty black licorice like bouquet. On the palate, this full bodied wine is extremely smooth, well balanced, and has lively and terrific spicy black cherry flavors. The finish is very very dry, a bit tannic, and extends on for a very long time. I personally would drink this wine on its own as opposed to with food. This wine will serve those well who do decide to cellar it. I enjoyed this wine and I am sure your will as well. – Ken
Winemaker Notes: "I find Mataro a very exciting variety to crush and make wine from. The spiciness of the juice is a major drawcard; however to me, the fascination is that point in the fermentation where the true spiciness of Mataro emerges. As I taste the fermentations everyday, on about day three, I notice the sudden kick of spice and mace flavours–now I am happy another great Mataro wine is born." Rolf Binder
