Wine Review: Who said 2000 was a year where Cabernet from Napa would not hold up? Well, most people. So I figured 7 years in the cellar would be a good time frame to test this wine and this vintage. As you will see, this wine does not fall into the masses of underperforming 2000 Cabernet. This wine is still is showing quite well. This wine opens with a very inviting sweet cherry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this full bodied wine is still drinking wonderfully. The wine is perfectly balanced. It is smooth and boasts wonderful concentrated black cherry flavors. The finish is nicely dry and lingers for quite sometime. This wine is calling for Filet Mignon. We shared it with close friends at a picnic on Lake George. It was enjoyed by all. If I were a wine director, I would be seeking some out for my list. Those of you who took a chance on this wine when it hit the marketplace will be rewarded. There is still some available on the net. You should run out and get some. Enjoy – Ken
