Wine Review: Now I know you are saying Verdelho, what is that? Well it is a white grape most well know and native to Portugal. So how is this one from the Twisted folks from Lodi, CA? Its pretty darn good and tasty. This wine opens with a refreshing exotic bouquet that is quite inviting. On the palate, the wine is crisp, lively, and quite acidic. This wine would certainly liven up a boring meal. One idea that came to mind is to steam your mussels in it with a bit of garlic. The finish lingers nicely and is a touch tingly. I liked this wine and recommend you give it a try if you have never tried Verdelho. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "Mandrake? You listening? Purity of Essence. That’s what this Verdelho has. You’ll never catch a Commie drinking this Verdelho. Why, Mandrake? Because it’s full of exotic aromas of bananas, citrus, lilac. And, it is bursting with crisp, fresh fruit flavors of apricots and honeydew melon. Mandrake, this is the purest expression of fruit from a vineyard as you will ever taste. Drink it now, like a man!"
