Wine Review: Following the stunning and excellent 2004 Peasant was going to be a big challenge for Christian T, however, this years Peasant is another terrific wine that will again be a crowd pleaser. This wine was so popular with the ladies last year, I am even recommending this years version for Mothers Day. This wine has a nice berry bouquet and a touch of earth. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is balanced, exuberant, lively, and has berry fruit flavors. The finish of this wine is explosive, dry, and is quite lengthy. This wine will match well with a red sauce based dishes or even on its own. Another winner from the Four Vine’s team – Enjoy Ken (PS – The label of this wine is one of my all time favorites!!)
Winemaker Notes: This traditional Rhone blend is 32% Syrah, 40% Mourvedre, 17% Grenache, 7% Counnoise, and 4% Tannat. On the nose, smokey black fruit and spice, vanilla crème brulee. On the palate, rich black fruit spice and anise finishing long into sexy vanilla oak. Picture a night with Bridget Bardot wrapped in velvet.
