Wine Review: Dave Powell knows how to make high end Shiraz. This beauty is just one example of that. This very dark opaque purple wine opens with beautiful and inviting blackberry aromas. On the palate, this full bodied wine is well balanced, lively, and shows ripe, lush, and concentrated sweet blackberry flavors. The finish is quite dry, a touch acidic, and has some length. This wine is certainly one to enjoy on its own, but could also go nicely with a pepper encrusted steak or venison. Enjoy - Ken (Note: I tried this wine last April & it improved with bottle age)
Winemaker Notes: Our homage to the great old vines of the Barossa Valley, this wine is composed of 100% Shiraz. Complex and concentrated, the wine is cloaked in velvet tannins that will continue to develop for another 10 years at least. The Factor is all that you would expect of a pureblood Barossa Shiraz. "The manager on a highland estate is referred to as The Factor. Having spent two years in predominantly older oak, this wine manages to express true Barossa Shiraz character" - David Powell
