Wine Review: Burgess Cellars returned to the Boston Wine Expo this year and this Cabernet was my favorite from their portfolio. The wine had a nice bouquet that was influenced by a touch of oak. On the palate, the wine is nicely balanced and has some good fruit flavors. There are some tannins present now and a touch of acidity. This should allow for some cellar time, it would not prevent you from enjoying this now. The finish is dry and extended. I really enjoyed this wine. Ken
Winemaker Notes: The vintage of 2003 was marked by a very warm harvest. This means the fruit from our vineyard, which normally has a spicy personality, is more towards the bright fruit character. The flavors are concentrated and the finish has a lingering effect. All the aromas are in balance with the wine’s 100% French oak barrel aging influence.
