Wine Review: This wine has a shy nose and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, the wine is nicely balanced, smooth, and quite tasty. I enjoyed this wines very good flavors and how well the tannins were controlled. It’s drinking very nicely right now. This Merlot will hold up nicely with a steak. The finish is quite dry and lengthy. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Trefethen Merlot is classically rich in color. Robust berry fruit and black cherry are caressed with a hint of vanilla from the toasty oak in both the nose and palate of this full-bodied wine. Spice and plummy notes follows in mid-palate with the finish being long and lush with well formed tannins and the right proportion of oak. There is a great depth of flavor and an opulent mouth–feel on the finish.
