Wine Review: Howell Mountain fruit has become all the rage lately and this claret from Bravante expresses why they wines are in such high demand. The bouquet of this wine was a bit mild for mountain fruit. On the palate, the wine was very tasty and well balanced. The finish is dry, a touch tannic, and had nice length. This tasty wine would match well with your favorite steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2003 "Trio" combines the best elements of our Estate-grown Bordeaux varietals: Our Merlot is lush on the palate, and brimming with enticing aromas of briary fruit, black currant and spice. Mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon adds firm tannin and a long lingering finish - the iron fist inside the velvet Merlot glove - and the perfectly-ripe Cabernet Franc adds a touch of blueberry and a hint of Provencal herbs. Judicious use of oak allows the fruit to take center stage while adding nice structure to the chewy tannins. This wine is very drinkable now, but will age well for 3-5 years.
