Wine Review: This wine is one of the smoothest and most elegant Cab Franc’s I have ever had. The finish was nice and dry. If you love Cab Franc, you have to find a way to find a bottle of this wine. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2003 Cabernet Franc is medium-bodied and fruity with aromas of blueberries and delicate dried herbs. Blending in small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, winemaker Julia Iantosca has created a classic example of the varietal. Primarily used as a blending wine, Cabernet Franc is similar in structure and flavor to its counterpart Cabernet Sauvignon while being a bit more aromatic and less tannic. Its inherent herbaceousness is tempered by ripe fruit character and aromas of cola and spice. While suitable for extended cellaring, the moderate tannin levels allow this wine to be enjoyed while still young.
