Wine Review: I recently pulled this wine to share with friends and they were quite impressed. This purplish indigo ink colored wine opens with a heavenly spicy blueberry bouquet. You could smell this wine for hours. On the palate, this full bodied wine was smooth, rich, and possessed flavor packed blueberries with hints of menthol. This wine is just delicious. The finish is quite dry, refined, and had noteworthy persistence. We had this wine with steaks and found it to be a very good match. Enjoy this beauty, we did. – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2004 estate Hilltops Syrah is produced from the highest elevations of our vineyards, where the topsoil is very thin and the fruit the most flavorful. The wines that are produced from these grapes are darkly colored, richly textured, and deeply flavored. Extended barrel aging brings a silky quality to the mouth-feel and more complexity to the aromatics of the finished wine.
