Wine Review: This wine has a mild bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light, acidic, and fairly flavorful. On the finish, this wine expresses itself for quite sometime. Someone looking for a Chardonnay that won’t overpower their food will enjoy this wine. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "Naked" is our expression for a No-Oak style of winemaking: pure fruit that has not seen any oak, nor does it want to. Fruit harvested from three vineyards in the Cat Canyon in Northern Santa Barbara: Los Alamos, Loma Verde and El Camino which are hilltop and south facing slope sites. The clusters were hand sorted and gently whole cluster pressed and fermented in 100% stainless steel and left on the lees as long as possible. The wine was NOT put through malolactic fermentation, in order to maintain the natural acid balance. As a result, the nose is bright with crisp apple and pear laced with clove, mineral, and a hint of anise. On the palate, the Chardonnay exhibits crisp apple, white peach, and pear, finishing long with hints of citrus and mineral. "Naked" is made to go with food instead of competing with it. Drink Naked often!
