Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Drew opens with pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet with hints of cinnamon, dried strawberry, and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, juicy and bright. The flavor profile is pomegranate and stony minerality blend with notes of tart cranberry, new oak, and red plum. We also detected hints of loam and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors linger and last for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would decant this Pinot for a bit before serving it with a Colorado lamb chop or a black & blue burger. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dark red and blue fruit notes with black trumpet mushroom and sage. The mineral notes and firm acidity scream coastal hillside vineyard. This 12-year-old vineyard was planted to several exciting suitcase selections and Dijon clones. We consider the Wendling Vineyard one of a handful of "Grand Cru" sites in the Anderson Valley. We recommend giving this bottling the cellar time required for it to reach its full potential. Pair with a Seared Duck Breast with a plum reduction or a classic Cassoulet.
