Wine Review: This fantastic Amarone is made with tradition in mind, but with a little help from technology. Instead of being dried on racks in the winery, the grapes are monitored by equipment that controls humidity and temperature, making a more consistent wine. The wine is very rich and dark, with hints of dried fruits and discernable leathery flavors. This is a wine that takes some patience to let the deep-rooted flavors emerge and it’s certainly worth the wait. Enjoy - Alex
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple in color with a powerful bouquet of warm, spicy raisined fruit. Rich and full bodied, intense and elegant. Velvety smooth. Amarone is an extremely important wine in Italian viticulture as it is unique to the Valpolicella region. This wine is traditionally drunk with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses. Excellent with hearty dishes. Since the grapes are allowed to dry partially before fermenting, Amarone has a distinctive flavor which can also accompany new or exotic sweet and sour dishes. It is therefore also perfectly suited for drinking with Asian and middle-eastern dishes. Serve at 16¬?C - (61¬?F) and open the bottle an hour before drinking.
