Wine Review: This wine won our most recent Cabernet tasting panel review. This wine has an impressive bouquet and is very inviting. On the palate, the wine had excellent balance, was smooth and velvety, and very impressive. The finish sails on for quite some time. Several tasters thought this wine would be one of the more expensive choices. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This offering of Alexander Valley Cabernet is very sleek and elegant thanks to the cool vintage and the higher percentage of Cabernet Franc. It has its trademark black cherry, blackberry jam and mocha aromas with a soily earth component, which expresses its terroir nicely. Amazingly complex and smooth at the same time, this wine has a mild tannin structure with layers of aromas and flavors, including cassis, herbs, olive tapenade and black tea. The finish is soft with lingering cherry and espresso notes. It can be enjoyed now due to its elegance; however, one will be richly rewarded by waiting 3-5 years to enjoy it. Excellent by itself or with steaks and smoked meats.
