Wine Review: While so many Italian wines are named for a hillside, a favorite child, or in this case a bull, they rarely tell you what it’s made with. Avignonesi is good enough to tell you that this wine is 100% Merlot and in spite of popular consensus that’s not a bad thing. The wine is very deep and rich with black fruit and ripe tannins modeled after the great merlots of Pomerol. This is a serious bottle of wine that you could lay down for a special occasion or enjoy now. - Alex
