Review: We stopped in at the Dry Creek General Store for a bite to eat at lunch time. It is located at the intersection of Dry Creek Rd and Lambert Bridge Rd. The Dry Creek General Store is a very popular spot. People visiting wineries in the Dry Creek area stop in for a sandwich or other picnic provisions. They have great sandwiches. It's also a favorite of people who live nearby. We ran into a winery owner and some winery staff members who were also grabbing a bite to eat. The Dry Creek General Store was built in 1881. Walking in to the store is like stepping back in time. The Dry Creek General Store truly is an historic gem. I enjoyed looking around the store at all the essentials for sale including cheese and crackers. I also walked through the small bar on the side of the store which is also like taking a walk back into another era.
Just outside the Dry Creek General Store are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables where you can take a break from wine tasting and enjoy the scenery and a fantastic sandwich. The Dry Creek General Store is a full service deli and serves made-to-order sandwiches. We ordered the warm roast beef au jus with Swiss cheese on a sourdough roll. We sat outside in the Adirondack chairs and enjoyed our delicious sandwich. While we were admiring the view and eating our lunch, we met some wine enthusiasts from the Midwest who were also taking a break from their busy wine tasting schedule to enjoy the scenery and eat a tasty sandwich. The Dry Creek General Store is a fun place to "people watch" and enjoy a savory sandwich. We recommend you stop by the next time you are in the Dry Creek area.
