Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from Pasterick opens with a fragrant boysenberry, plum and mild oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The flavor profile is a mentholated cherry with notes of spiced plum, black pepper and black licorice. I also picked up some hints of espresso, hard salami and black olive. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins, acidity and flavors drift away nicely. This is another very food friendly Syrah from Vineyard of Pasterick. I would pair it with Swiss veal and wild mushroom stew. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2015 Estate Syrah delivers all three acts...and has a concentrated deep dark inky color with gorgeous notes of black current, black fruits, blue fruits, figs and sweet spices with complex flavors of anise, bay, honey and vanillin oak on the palette. You will also experience the flavors of dark reds and white and black pepper aromas as you enjoy the beautiful soft mouth feel as well as an extremely long easy finish.
