Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from St. Francis was well received by the Tasting Panel. It opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of blackberry, eucalyptus and Bell’s seasoning. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe plum with notes of dark chocolate and black tea. We also detected hints of cinnamon and toasted oak. The finish is dry and its fruit and tannins are nicely prolonged with a touch of heat. The Panel suggested pairing this good value Zin with pork dumplings or a New York strip streak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This rich, medium-bodied "Old Vines" Zinfandel reveals abundant aromas of dark red berries, cherry compote and warm spice. Lingering, bright flavors follow, with notes of boysenberry pie, fresh cranberry and a touch of white pepper. The finish is long, smooth and a little spicy. Pair with southwest pork, pecan and bourbon bread pudding or chocolate mousse with raspberries.
