Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark red colored blend from Robert Foley opens with a fragrant cranberry and ripe strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is a blueberry and vanilla oak blend with notes of stewed plum. I also detected hints of black cherry, menthol and bay leaf. The finish features rather dry and dusty tannins that stick around for quite a while. This big boy will pair well with slow cooked short ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas suggest ripe black berry fruit with a floral hint. The richness of mid-palate, balanced acidity and gentle tannin linger in a long finish. More than half of this blend are classic claret varieties (Cabernet, Merlot, Petit Verdot), which marry with Rhone-rooted varieties (Syrah, Petite Sirah, Charbono) and little bit of zing from a few of Bob’s other favorites.
