Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Robert Foley opens with a boysenberry bouquet with notes of black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced blackberry and olive blend with notes of oak. We also detected hints of boysenberry as the wine evolved and opened up. The finish is rather dry and its sticky tannins last for a very long time. This big boy Syrah benefits from decanting and aeration. It would pair very nicely with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Like vintages past, this is 100% Syrah with ripe berry pie aromas, a full mid-palate, soft tannin, and flavors of ripe blackberries that flood the palate. Deliciously concentrated, this wine drinks easily now, but will also benefit from bottle aging.
