Wine Review: This pitch black colored red blend is very good and enjoyed by everyone who tried it during the Super Bowl. It opens with a mild blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with hints of blueberry and faint oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well managed and linger nicely. Our mini-tasting group thought this wine would be perfect on its own by the fireplace or while watching the big game! Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This youthful 2011 Griffin drinks like a Pomerol! Aromas and flavors of red cherry and red currant carried by an elegantly weighted mid-palate and perfect balance. The finish is graced with a touch of mocha and espresso and finishes long with very fine gentle tannins. The 2011 Griffin is a blend of 65% elegant and lush Calistoga Merlot, 16% fruity and approachable Syrah, 14% dark and rich Petite Sirah, and 5% soft and expressive Charbono. Delicioso!
