Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Gewurztraminer from British Columbia was one of my favorite wines covered in a mini-tasting at this year’s wine blogger conference. It opens with a classic mild lychee with a hint of apple. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and full of life. The flavor profile is an enjoyable lemon and lychee blend with hints of apple in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors last for quite some time after the wine is gone. This wine would be perfect with bacon wrapped scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Queen hen really knows how to stand out in the flock with gorgeous aromas of spiced pear, orange, floral and peach. Dry and medium-bodied, the wine has fresh, juicy acidity and flavours of tangerine, lemon drop, white peach, quince and tropical fruit. Notes of spice, citrus and apricot linger on the refreshing finish. Drink while young and fresh. Serve with spice-rubbed pork tenderloin and roasted baby carrots; clove studded baked ham with spiced apple sauce; caramelized onion and Gruyere tarts.
