Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Riesling from the Finger Lakes is consistently very good. The 2015 opens with a faint pear and ginger bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly sweet and pleasant. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe Bosc pear and green apple blend with hints of clover honey and ginger. The finish remains slightly sweet and fades nicely. This Riesling is a real crowd pleaser and would pair nice with chicken lo-mein. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Circle Riesling is meant to be a quintessential example of Finger Lakes Riesling; a touch of residual sugar to bring out the rich orchard fruit flavors without overwhelming the lemon zest and citrus that make it crisp and refreshing to drink. The overall wine is easy to drink, but made with as much seriousness and as many individual layers as any Riesling that Red Newt releases. The philosophy is simple; a crowd pleasing wine should still be multifaceted.
