Wine Review: This deep purple colored Touriga Nacional based wine opens with black plum and dried mint bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and a little juicy. The flavor profile is a black plum and dried herb blend with notes of strawberry rhubarb. I also detected hints of fig, cardamom and a dark cocoa. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This exotic tasting wine from Portugal will pair well with a Brazilian chimichurri skirt steak. Enjoy – Ken, Dave and Julie
Winemaker Notes: Extremely fresh, this wine shows the freshness of the grapes. A very intense, elegant aroma where red berry and plum jam dominate, perfectly balanced with notes from ageing in new American oak barrels. Excellent tannins on the palate, with a long and lasting finish. Serve with red meat, game, strong cheeses, spicy meat dishes.
