Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Lava Cap opens with a shy ripe black cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, soft and smooth. The flavor profile is a black cherry and black currant blend notes of fig and black tea and a hint Black Sambuca. The finish is dry and its well-managed mild dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon is a selection of our best barrels from our oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Planted in 1981, these vines yield a wine that is exceptionally concentrated, elegant, and rich. The nose is met with dark fruits, including plum and cassis. The rich fruit is followed by aromas of allspice and cedar. In the mouth, the tannins are mouth filling and plush, offering a rich and distinctly long finish.
