Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc form Lava Cap opens with a graphite and smoky oak bouquet with hints of plum and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild plum and blueberry blend with notes of black currant and graphite. I also picked up some hints of cola, mild yellow pepper, dark cocoa, oregano and gentle cedar plank mixed in to add to its complexity. The finish is dry and its flavors and tannins show very nice length. I would pair this Cab Franc with Kerri’s 100-point meatballs! Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This powerful wine displays aromas of black cherry compote along with spiced sun-dried tomato. Toasted oak compliments cherry-vanilla flavors while bright acidity lifts soft tannins to extend a long rich finish.
