Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot reminded me of a Grand Cru Beaujolais. It opens with a strawberry licorice and mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and Old World styled. The flavor profile is a soft black cherry with some gentle dusty oak notes and a hint of blackberry. The finish is dry and moderate tannins build up and stick with you for quite a while. This Pinot did benefit from some air. I would pair it with a steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Pinot Noir has very good color and acidity, and shows much concentration. The finished wine is well structured, and tastes of rich red and black fruits. The tannins are integrated nicely; this vintage could be aged for five to 10 years at least. This wine is recommended for pairing with pheasant, elk, roasted duck, or French cheeses.
