Wine Review: Burgans has produced several Very Good Albarinos over the years. This year is no exception. This year’s version is light yellow colored and opens with an appealing citrus and peach like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, viscous, and zippy with lemon-lime flavors. There are notes of peach and minerality as well. This wine is dry and refreshing as well. We felt this wine would be best with food. We could easily pair it with ham or bacon wrapped scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Burgans is made at the famous Bodega Martin Codax by Luciano Almoedo, perhaps the biggest advocate of the Albarino varietal in Spain. The 2007 is a bright greenish yellow colour with golden tinges. A fruity aroma with unigue complexity where the variety is clearly appreciated, highlighting slight nuances of ripe apple. On the palate, a distinct syrup like taste and sweet character giving an intense, pleasurable sensation. A balanced, rounded structure finish making it particularly sweet.
