Wine Review: One thing I have come to appreciate about VJB wines over the years is that they do not hold back anything. They are always full throttle. This very dark purple offering from VJB does just that. This wine opens with a wonderful and very ripe black cherry and anise like bouquet that would appeal to Amarone fans. On the palate, this wine is round, a touch acidic, very concentrated with lush spicy black cherry like flavors. The finish is very very dry and its tannins last for quite some time. This wine is almost a dessert wine and should be enjoyed on its own. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The biggest VJB wine to date! This release exhibits deep, solid layers of dark plush Cabernet fruit. The nose is highlighted with aromas of black cherry & black licorice with hints of blueberry and cocoa. This wine is very rich in texture with robust flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry and black licorice. A very solid tannin structure that should allow this wine to be cellared through 2015.
