Wine Review: This very deep purple wine opens with a musty barnyard like aromas reminiscent of many Old World wines. It also had hints of coffee, blackberry, and mint as well. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is very extracted, juicy, noticeably acidic, and has tart cherry and coffee like flavors. The finish is dry and quite tannic. This wine lives up to its name and is a Bear. It needs some time in the cellar to integrate and open up. The panel felt this would pair well with beef stroganoff. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine displays rich blackberry, cassis, mocha, cedar and our signature sage spice aromas and flavors. The finish lingers from the ripe tannins and smoky oak. This full-bodied wine should be enjoyed over the next ten years. – Clay Brock, Winemaker
