Wine Review: I recently had dinner with friends at Il Capriccio in Waltham, MA. We enjoyed an array of tasty Barberas over the course of the evening. This La Spinetta offering opened up the evening on the right foot. This rich inky purple wine opens with a pronounced blackberry and cassis like bouquet. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is smooth, well balanced, and has plum like flavors. The finish is dry, moderately tannic, and sails on for a very long time. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: dark ruby red. Bouquet: dense, with scents that remind of blackberry and mint flower Taste: full bodied, fresh with tannins and good acidity, long finish Pairings: strong, soft cheeses, wild game and all types of red meat
