Wine Review: In Germany this wine would be a TBA or Trochenbeerenauslese. That means it was made from selected grapes that had botrytis mold or noble rot. I want to thank Antoinette for sharing some of this gem with us during our visit. This wine opens with an ice tea like bouquet. This wine is extremely rich and unbelievably concentrated. This wine has explosive green apple flavors. This wine is a dessert on to itself. The finish is pleasant, sweet, and lingers nicely. This wine is a steal for $50. Similar wines out of Germany would be much much more money even if you could get them. Enjoy this excellent wine. – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine, more commonly known as "TBA" (short for the German Trockenbeernauslese) is truly the king of all the Rieslings. Pressed only from hand-selected grapes that have been affected by the botrytis mold, or "noble rot" as it is often called, its intense nose and taste are full of honeyed peaches and apricots. Comments from customers have ranged from "Nectar of the Gods" to just plain "Wow".
