Rebecca WineburgOn Wednesday, March 12, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Rebekah Wineburg again. Rebekah is the winemaker for Quintessa and Post & Vine. We covered two current-release Quintessa wines and three Post & Vine wines during the interview. We last interviewed Rebekah in January 2024, when we covered previous vintages of the wines. You can read about those wines in that post here. In the current interview, Rebekah shared some updates since our last chat, so check out what we learned.

Before we get to the wine reviews, I thought I would share a few tidbits we learned during the tasting with Rebekah.

      • What is new at Quintessa and Post & Vine?
        • 2023 Illumination Sauvignon Blanc moved to lighter bottles.
        • 2022 vintage of Post & Vine removed capsules and moved to lighter bottles.
        • Post & Vine switched to a technical cork in the 2021 and 2022 vintages.
        • 2022 Post & Vine Testa Carignane is a brand-new wine.
        • Post & Vine wine have another new wine in the 2023 vintage. An Old Vine Zinfandel from the Historic Stampede Vineyard in Lodi!
      • Rebekah has been with Quintessa for 10 years now.
      • Quintessa replants about 5% of their vineyard each year, as they plan for the future.
      • The Mule Plane Vineyard is also historic.
        • There is 30% whole cluster in the impressive 2022 Mule Plane Carignane!
      • Vintage Updates
        • 2020, 2021 and 2022 were all extreme drought years.
        • There was ample rainfall the next 3 years.
          • 2023 was cooler with moderate to large crops.
          • 2024 is going to be good.
          • 2025 is already above what they need in terms of water.
