Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alexander Valley opens an old oak and black currant bouquet with a hint blackberry and prune. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is mild black currant with notes of plum, gentle cedar and black licorice. I also detected a hint of expresso as well. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This Cab would pair very nicely with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This Cabernet block is situated between 1,000 and 1,200 feet in a cooler spot below the fogline, hence the bandwidth of flavors leans to electric blue/red fruits which is unique from the mountain. Floral, dried blueberry and orange peel notes lift out of the glass along with red currant and pomegranate. The texture is seamless and elegant, with fine-grained tannins.
