Wine Review: This ruby colored Syrah from South Africa opens with black currant and blueberry bouquet with hints of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a black licorice and blueberry blend with notes of light rum. I also detected hints of prune, cola and mild minerality. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. This Syrah is food friendly and would pair well with well a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
