Wine Review: This deep garnet colored Syrah from South Africa was very popular with the panel. It opens with a mild black raspberry and oak bouquet with hints of black cherry and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak influenced black cherry with hints of plum and coffee. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a bit. The panel suggested pairing this Syrah with grilled salmon croquettes. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This exquisite Syrah boasts beautiful aromas of dark berries and pepper that follow through on the lengthy palate. Well-integrated tannins and seductive hints of mocha, earth and spice add to the complexity of this single vineyard bottling from Thelema winemaker Rudi Schultz.
